We all know it's coming. It looms on the horizon like a red sky at night. Its going to show up like a thief in the night, without warning, without a sound. You'll be sitting in the living room watching a Babylon 5 made for TV movie with your family, wondering how long exactly the little chicken on top of your VCR has been there. Then your mind will wander, and you'll wonder exactly why you've got a VCR in the first place, and then you'll remember that the entirety of the Twilight Zone sits unwatched on 47 Tapes in your closet because you always meant to watch it but you thought you might regift it because your brother would really love it because even though DVD has replaced VHS long ago the Twilight Zone is still awesome.

And then it happens. The apocalypse.

So what do you do in that most inconvenient of moments? Do you cower? Do you grab the nearest gun and run out into the flash sending hot lead into whatever is standing in front of you? Do you hug your family, waiting for the shockwave to sweep you all away in your last warm embrace?

No. If you're reading this site I already know that you're going to do the right thing. You're going to be a man. You're going to survive.

So now that you've decided that you're going to man up to the ultimate challenge of purpetuating the human race in its dubiously certain last days, you're going to have to be prepared. Luckily I've got that taken care of. I've assembled the quintissential how-to of survival kits: the Bug-Out-Bag.

The Bug-Out-Bag (hereafter to be referred to simply as the 'BOB'or Bug Out Bag( also sometimes called a 'Ready Bag' or an 'Oh ****' bag or a 'Oh No3s!' bag) is everything you need to survive in the post apocalyptic wasteland contained in its own totally portable and sometimes edible container. Almost anything can be used as a BOB, the most common being a backpack, like I used. There are so many styles available that there's really no reason for you to not have one to match your BOF (Bug-Out-Fit, article coming soon). But I'll let my list speak for itself.
